Pumpkins and Computer Issues

This weekend was filled with good Halloween treats!  Will wanted to be a bat this year and I couldn't find a bat costume for anything.

So, being the good Mom I am, made a bat costume.  I took a black shirt, some black material, red ribbon, some hot glue, black thread, and a pullover hat to make this cute little bat costume.  He was beyond excited!!!  He modeled it and flapped those little wings to his hart content.

The day before trick or treating, Hubby carved our traditional pumpkin for Will.  Will picked the pattern and Hubby carved.  Will carved his traditional apple while the pumpkin was being carved.  (I just love our traditions!!!!)

Here is a picture of the pumpkin and the apple!

Needless to say, we had a great Halloween.  We trick or treated here in town and had lots of fun.  I hope everyone had a good and safe time no matter what your Halloween was like.

On a different note:

My computer is on the blink because of a virus or something it got.  I am trying to fix it, but it continues to freeze up on me.  If anyone has any advice, please pass it on.  I don't know what to do next.  I am just guessing on how to fix it.  So far nothing is working.  I have norton, and they are wanting me to pay $100 even though I already payed over that to have norton to start with.  I really don't want to pay them to fix my computer when I paid for the software to protect it (which it didn't do!).  Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Twilight-How do you feel about it?

I have recently found out that some Christian Moms band the Twilight series form their home! I LOVE the Twilight series and had to find out why they would do this.

Apparently they looked at it completely different from the way I looked at it. I found it to be a great series. I thought it was very apparent that this was fiction. Complete fantasy! It is very well written and even makes you think about your faith. The main characters discus faith and purity in the series many times. The love of family is very strong in their lives. I thought that the entire series was mainly about right and wrong.

Others have found that they see the main characters teaching lust. They found the evil in it. I do have to say if you are looking for the evil you will find it. Evil is in every thing. You only have to look. You can visit Jasmine at Far Above Rubies to better understand her feelings about this. She goes into a lot more detail than I do. Mostly because she feels so strongly about it.

I feel that my son is being taught to love the Lord and know when something is fact or fiction. I don't think that I will keep him from reading these books when I feel he is old enough. I intend to talk about it with him first and make sure he is old enough to enjoy the books, without thinking vampires are real and boys can turn into wolves. I also don't want him to think that love works the same way in real life as in the books. He has to understand they idolize each other more than love each other. No one is perfect. As far as the movies are concerned I don't really like them and I don't yet know how I feel about him watching them one day. I have many years to think this through.

So, how do you feel about the Twilight series? Do you band them from your house hold? Would you let your children read them? Let me know!

Beware Of The Swine Flu Vaccine!!!!

This is so crazy!! I have heard horrible things about the Swine Flu Vaccine! Now they say that the Vaccine is killing more people than the flu itself! I have been trying to get more info on this before I posted, but getting a strait answer out of anyone is so hard. I will let you decided. Here are a few places on the web that I found a few thoughts.

Mail Online

HealthAndSurvival.com

Mercola.com

If anyone out there gets more info please let me know. Fell free to leave me a comment on this subject. I would love to know what everyone else thinks. As for me, I don't think I will allow anyone in my family to get this vaccine until I know a lot more about it!

Caution!

In my eyes, I feel that God has given me the greatest gifts of all. Those gifts are my family. I do the best I can to take care of my gifts. This is why you will never see pictures of my son's face on this blog. I am protecting the greatest gift that God has given me. I don't know who are what is out their on the big old Internet. Not that I think everyone is out to get me or my family, But I have heard horror stories. I have no interest in being involved in any real life CSI. (You do know that some of the CSI tv show episodes are based on things that really happened.) To scary for me!! So, I will have pictures of events and so on as I talk about them, just not of my son's face. This is just my opinion, and I am not judging other people who do put pictures of their children on the Internet.

Thank You for all understanding,

Joshlin
