Today I have to share what I am thankful for with the world. I am trying to memorize more verses from the Bible every day. This is the one I learned last night. I have just started believing in myself and that I can memorize verses.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
You would not believe the joy in my heart at this moment. As I am writing this post, Hubby shared with me that this is one of the verses he memorized also. Praise the Lord God for my filled heart!
You can share and link up with what you are thankful for this week with us at Spiritually Unequal Marriage.
Out of all the verses in the bible to memorize this is probably the most important. What a great thing for Thankful Thursday. Its what we base everything else upon- at least I would hope so.
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you are both memorizing verses. I'm sure that is something that will be a comfort to you both.
ReplyDeleteWay to go with memorizing Scripture! You will never regret the time you spend writing God's word on your heart. The verses will come to you in times of need/praise/sorrow--and you will again be thankful for putting them to memory!
ReplyDeleteScripture memory is something I've just never successfully pursued as an adult. But I definitely know that one from my childhood!! The entire Gospel in one verse ~ amazing!! I think it's so cool that you and your husband are working on "hiding God's Word in your hearts" together. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteYay! I just did that verse with my kids today during our school time. :-)
ReplyDeleteJoshlin,
ReplyDeleteAmen. That memorize scripture will mean more and more to you as the years pass. Well done. Hugs.
There is nothing that can compare to the joy that God gives us. Have a joyful and blessed week in Jesus!
ReplyDeleteHonoring The King
This is such a good verse. Have you heard the scripture chorus on it? Just the words of the verse and it blesses me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was about 11, our S.S. teacher told us whoever memorized the third chapter of John first would get a New Testament. I memorized it that afternoon and won the prize. Those words have never left me; I can quote it still.
