Today and everyday I am thankful for Hubby's job. Since the birth of our son, He has been the sole provider for us. As of last year his job was going down hill. He was in the construction business and as the economy crashed, so did his hours. We where lucky enough to find out about a job fair at a wood mill about an hour away that he has been interested in since he helped to build it. The wood mill is the biggest in North America and is 99.9% emissions free. That was a big plus. He was one of the 13 hired out of 200+ that day. His pay check has taken a hit making our finances a LOT lower and in so making life harder for us, but he has a job!
So many people in the United States lost their jobs. Some are still looking for work. We where lucky enough and didn't loose our home like so many others. The pictures form the evening news still haunt me. I will never forget seeing those poor people living in tents on the side of the road or in fields. They lost everything is such a short time. The only reason we made it was because of hubby's job and the fact that we didn't have much to loose. We had not stocks, we had no money in the bank, we only had a house and a truck note. Then the house note (Thank The Good Lord!) is not through a bank. That was another big plus to be thankful for. Our interest rate never went up! We are so thankful for that too! God is good!!! We are ever so thankful. My heart is so full just writing this!
